Bishop T.D. Jakes installs Pastors Sarah Jakes Roberts and Touré Roberts as Co-Senior Pastors of The Potter’s House

This past Sunday, The Potter’s House, one of the most influential churches in the world, marked its 29th church anniversary with a momentous occasion: the formal installation of Pastors Touré Roberts and Sarah Jakes Roberts as co-senior pastors. This milestone represented the long-planned succession of leadership publicly announced earlier this year by Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Far more than a ceremonial handoff, this moment signals the beginning of a bold new era for The Potter’s House, as Bishop T.D. Jakes shifts from senior pastor to legacy builder, expanding his global influence and redoubling his efforts to address economic, cultural, and spiritual needs through the T.D. Jakes Group.

Bishop T.D. Jakes is a globally renowned Christian leader, visionary, and cultural leader who founded The Potter’s House in 1996. After nearly 50 years of public ministry, he announced earlier this year that he will hand off daily pastoral responsibilities to focus on legacy initiatives, expanding his work in economic equity, social impact, and cross-sector leadership through the T.D. Jakes Group. He will remain Chairman of the Board and spiritual overseer of The Potter’s House.

Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts is a New York Times bestselling author, international speaker, and founder of Woman Evolve, a global women’s movement that has redefined modern ministry for millions of women across cultures and denominations. A dynamic communicator known for her vulnerability and wisdom, she bridges generations and brings powerful insight into healing, identity, and purpose.

Pastor Touré Roberts is a spiritual strategist, bestselling author, and founder of ONE | A Potter’s House Church. He is a leading voice on purpose, transformation, and spiritual wholeness. Known for his prophetic teaching and cultural relevance, Pastor Touré brings both pastoral experience and entrepreneurial vision to his new role.

Together, they represent a modern model of spiritual leadership, one that honors the legacy of Bishop Jakes while reimagining ministry for the next era.
