In what feels like a full-circle moment, gospel luminary Yolanda Adams is stepping into a new chapter—this time under the bright lights of Broadway. The four-time Grammy winner is set to make her theatrical debut in Alicia Keys’ acclaimed musical Hell’s Kitchen, slipping into the role of Miss Liza Jane beginning November 21, 2025.
For years, Adams has been a voice of faith, hope, and strength—her powerful ballads and uplifting anthems shaping lives around the globe. Now, she brings that same spirit to the stage, honoring a character she connects with deeply: Miss Liza Jane, a mentor and piano teacher who reflects someone who once poured into her own musical journey.
Adams will alternate performances with Tony-winning actress Kecia Lewis through December, and then take over the role full-time from December 16 through January 25, 2026.
In her own words, “Performing on Broadway has always been a dream of mine … this show feels like home.” Alicia Keys, creator of the musical, echoed the excitement: “Her singular, extraordinary voice and undeniable presence will bring great power, light and emotion … Her authenticity and heart perfectly embody the soul of this story.”

Hell’s Kitchen tells the story of a young woman finding her voice and purpose in 1990s New York. It’s a tale of joy, pain, beauty, and tough love—universal themes that Adams says “allow everyone to see themselves in this musical.”
For the UnCommon Gospel community, Yolanda’s Broadway debut is more than a career milestone. It’s a reminder that the gifts God gives us aren’t limited by genre or stage—they can lead us to new places, bigger dreams, and deeper impact. Her journey from church pulpits to Grammy stages to Broadway is proof that when we walk in faith, all things are possible.
Stay tuned, family—this is a chapter we won’t soon forget.
